Hybrid Duck
Still very busy at the moment so blipping opportunities have been few and far between.
Mallard Ducks quite readily hybridise and produce some rather interesting offspring. The consensus of opinion seems to be that this is a Red Crested Pochard crossed with a Mallard, other candidates include hybrid Ferruginous x Tufted Duck, all I know is that it is a rather attractive duck. There are at least two of these ducks on the lake in Bedford Park where I briefly visited this morning after getting two new tyres fitted to the car (ouch!). It was dull (always seems to be so at the moment) and the camera on auto defaulted to 800 iso, although the results were a bit soft I was still quite pleased.
You can see it large here.
Some other shot's are here.
