What a difference a day makes

Today there is much less wind and no rain. Whoopee!

I went for a cycle up to Storr Lochs where I found lots of evidence of the high rainfall of late. This cottage whose base walls are normally in Storr Lochs shows its decking and pier to be substantially below the water.

My son and a friend drove round Trotternish yesterday and drove over the dam to Storr Lochs. He told me the waves were breaking over the top of the dam at that time. They hesitated to continue fearing being either lifted off by the wind or washed away by the amount of water.

I guess, had I gone out in the van today I might have found a lot more evidence but getting exercise is as important as taking photographs, probably more so.
