Going to the match.
Up until a short time ago, I had the pleasure of working part-time at my local football club, P.N.E.F.C. Anyway, I no longer do, and so today, as I was taking Maggie for her constitutional at just after 12:00, I noticed the away fans from Carlisle United filling the parking spaces close to the ground. They had that look of sports fan denied , or postponed their weekly fix. They were a good natured bunch, with several family groups, some needed direction to food and drink, which I duly obliged. I did advise them that as most local pubs are not open to away fans now, I pointed them in the direction of one that I knew would admit away fans. It seems like ages since we have played Carlisle in the league, as it used to be regarded as a local derby, there not being many clubs further north than us. I have a kind regard for the Cumbrian fans, as long of course, if they don't beat us.
