Peter King at Graduation
My First (and probably only) Press Pass!
Was asked to shoot for Commencement as most of the other newspaper staff were walking.
Of course, my camera is almost completely incapable of shooting in the space.
And, of course, everyone else shooting had a darn nice camera or at least an SLR.
Which my camera is not.
Kinda felt like the kid who shows up to high school basketball tryouts having never played a game in their life, only knowing about it from television.
It was awkward.
Commencement speaker was Peter King a sports writer and SportsCenter television personality.
He graduated from OU years ago and got his journalism start from the same paper I'm summer-shooting for!
I liked his speech a lot. MUCH better than last year's. When *I* graduated.
Boo the lucky grads.
Then I was told to get some outside shots of graduates after the ceremony.
Which meant asking for photos and names and requesting candid poses.
Little difficult for me, but I think I managed a few good shots. None of which are posted here, for several reasons.
And if I'm lucky, a few will end up in the paper!
Other shots:
*at the podium
*Where do I stand?
*Ant Carnage!
*Pasta Left on the Stove for More than 24 Hours...eew.
