A Christmas Wish.

The presents are opened,
the food is ate.
Darkness descends,
it's growing late.

Sometimes joyous,
sometimes marred,
another year
we can discard.

And look afresh
to a brand new start
with few regrets
and hopeful hearts.

Darkness descends,
the day's soon done.
I hope it was
a happy one.

and Christmas cheer
