Looking back

After a busy morning tidying the house, packing and repacking the car, we were finally underway. As the house is up for sale, we can't leave the place in a state of chaos as we normally might.

Driving back to Gullane always feels a bit strange - we lived there for five years which is the longest we've lived in any one place (so far). Today though there was no time for melancholy as we had a packed agenda of friends to try and see. Lovely to see everyone again, and to see the kids slot so easily into their old friendships.

With friends visited, tea, coffee and wine drunk, and a fish supper purchased, we could finally get underway to my folks house and begin Christmas in earnest (with a lemsip in my case as this cold is making its presence felt).

Busyness has driven away yesterday's malaise of spirit; malaise of the sinuses is so much easier to treat.
