Another Languedoc year...

Christmas tree

During the summer the parasol pines in the vineyard are host to the nests of processional caterpillars. They are dangerous little blighters with poison-filled hairs. However the pines are truly beautiful trees that are an iconic sight here in the Languedoc.

Rather than buy a Christmas tree that has been shipped miles before being sold, we prefer to use a branch of parasol pine. I like the wispy look and they take up a lot less space in the hall. They also have the great advantage of being free.

Well, the 7kg pork joint has been in the oven for five hours already, just another nineteen hours to go before it will be ready. The vegetables are done dnd we're as prepared as we can be. The bandage is finally off Mum's head and she's wearing her best earrings. So all's well.

I wish all my blip-pals the merriest of Christmases. I send you huge hugs and much, much love.
