The Tiled Pavilion

Today we visited the Archaeological Museum, which consists of three museums - the Museum of the Ancient Orient, the Archaeological Museum and the Tiled Pavilion. We saw lots of sarcophogii, pots and jars, Babylonian statues, the Ishtar Gates, the oldest love poem in the world, and lots of tiles. I love the blues of the tiles - and it felt appropriate that I was wearing blue, not that anyone could see that under all my layers!

The main news today though was the weather. It has been pouring with rain, cold, wet and windy! Mad weather. So we stayed in rather than getting the ferry to a restaurant on the other side of the Bosphorous. Still having a great holiday though!
