Not the first time this intriguing and wildly expensive restaurant has been put on Blipfoto.
We had a fresh dusting of snow this morning, which prettied up a lot of the brown patches that had been showing up, and also made the ice near my door somewhat more manageable. The downside, of course, is that it also made the ice harder to see, and thus, if you didn't know to tread carefully, you probably would've viewed the new snow with less enthusiasm than I did.
Went out and walked around Aker Brygge, the city's newest and most expensive neighborhood, where they've brought high end appartments, offices, and businesses in to the city center on a wharf. It's a very clean and modern area, there's a lot of design that calls attention to itself. But I think the city has a lot to be proud of with Aker Brygge; bringing more people and life into a center city is always something I endorse, although Norway has less problems with this than do the middle and western US. They've also very conciously made each building not look like the others, so while they're all obviously drawn from the same contemporary architectural playbook, there's some variety to keep it interesting. The barcode project at Bjørvika is working with the same idea.
