The Right to Love?

Been thinking about love, and compassion, a lot today - in between meetings and emails and phone calls etc. it was prompted by reading the responses of children and young people to a consultation we have been working on with partners about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which the Scottish Govt is now moving to fully adopting.

There was lots of fantastic stuff in the responses, about how children and young people feel everyone should understand the concept of rights and respect much more - not just for them but for every single person. But this direct quote from a child really stood out for me: "Children need love. How do you make that a right?"

Made me cry. Makes me cry writing it now. Wow...just...wow...
