Tomorrowland

By alexschief

One of the best things about Oslo this time of year is the light. I figured it'd be depressing around this time, as we get so few hours of light and it's almost completely dark by 16:00. But, while it was a little depressing for a while, mainly during the grey and rainy November we had, on the cloudless days, it's simply incredible.

Tomorrow is the official beginning of winter and the winter solstice, so today was as short as it's going to get. But I don't mind. It's like a beautiful sunset all day, playing out a wonderfully long period as the sky becomes more and more orange before turning a deep red as the sun sinks below Vestfold. It's really a spectacular phenomenon, and it makes cold winter days like this one a joy to experience.
