All the Fun of the Fair
Day two: Served breakfast in bed with toast to die for - - - - made with Scottish plain loaf dripping with hot melted butter.(a batch loaf, rather rough in texture and a with a distinct taste.)
We travelled into town by car,and managed to get some nice shots, with clear blus skies, of the many landmarks on route to the main drag.
Mid day, 'twas time to meet up with a friend of the family for a somewhat early 'vintage' afternoon tea, in Mrs. Sloan's Cake Salon. After a good old natter and more than enough dainty sandwiches and sweetmeats, all served up on Mrs.Sloan's finest bone china,we spent a few hours trying to kit Lisey out with clothing for her up and coming trip to see Mikey in New York for New Year.A visit to the new Hamley's toy store was also a MUST for mama!
I really was feeling my age by this point, so was forced to sit on the steps in the middle of Princess square to recover! The old feet were throbbing so shoes had to be removed! We must have walked for miles.
Our night consisted of a relaxing evening meal in a top restaurant, before a visit to the Xmas Fair in George Square.I changed this shot to B/W and added a grainy finish to enhance the effect of the rides in motion.
