Evening Sky
Just before we left for church this morning...my wife asked..."Where do you think the squirrels go to keep warm?" It was 29 degrees this a.m.
I felt like Jed Clampett when I answered..."Ya know...Buttercup...I don't rightly know." And...I don't.
I don't think they use the "summer house" that is shown high up in the tree. I guessed that they find holes in trees, and try to insulate them with leaves or pine branches.
The little rodents come to my feeder all winter. When I let my 2 dogs out...the squirrels have to make a run for it. It's pretty comical to see a squirrel trying to get through a foot of snow...followed closely by a 5 pound chihauhau. The only difference? THE SQUIRREL ISN'T WEARING A SWEATER!!! When the doggie comes in...we have to change her outfit. I usually try to shovel a "squirrel path" from my back porch to my nearest pine tree...so they can make a speedy retreat.
A slow picture day. A couple of chickadees, one titmouse, and a picture of a Subway in the setting sun. Maybe they would hire me after they tire of Jared...the subway guy.
