The Durham Cow
I met up with some friends at the South Causey Inn at Stanley for lunch. I can highly recommend the Sunday roast it was huge as well as delicious. Afterwards I went for a walk along the riverside at Durham. I came across this cow sculpture which is known as 'The Durham Cow' but I have no idea what the significance of the cogs is. There were three of them in total one of which can be seen in this photo alongside the bandstand. It was quite late in the day when I took this so the light wasn't wonderful but I liked the way the sun was causing a band of golden light across the tops of the trees.
