Through Jo's Lens

Manchester

These are the Christmassy lights in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester.

A little bit of a covering of snow yesterday but today we got our first snowfall. I am almost phobic about driving in it, as pretty as it looks. I had to drive over the moor road to get to a GP surgery today and, I was looking out the window watching the snow fall and thinking that I wouldn't be getting back home! All was fine apart from the fact that I couldn't get the car on the drive once I did get back home. In theory I know how to drive in snow....use your gears, keep off the brakes...but in practise I freak out, especially when the ABS kicks in...

Caught the train to Manchester...had a meal and a look around the Christmas markets. The trains were packed. It really annoys me when people put their bags or feet onto train seats when they know people are desperate for a seat. Grrrr!! On the other hand, I do like the fact that people come together and have a laugh when the train is so packed. Some students had us in fits when they were describing how being packed onto the train was like being in a penguin colony.

I used to love the snow when I was a kid but not now....I hate driving in it, I hate walking in it and it's too f-f-f-f freezing cold!
