Stellar Serendipity

I was standing in the churchyard of St Mary's at Haddington (the lamp of Lothian) this afternoon taking a few night pictures and tried pointing the camera at one of the early stars that had come out, using a slow shutter speed.

As you can see, camera shake caused by an unsteady hand (due to the cold?!) has ruined the picture of a star but I like this patterned effect. I think it looks a bit like a seahorse myself.
