Santa Dash

Santa Dashes appear to be the IN thing this Christmas. Charity fun runs for Santas have been springing up all over the country at a rate exceeding the growth of autumn mushrooms. Naturally, Arklow had to have its own version today. Probably the most loosely organised road "race" I have ever witnessed. How nobody was killed in the scrummage with the traffic I will never understand, especially as there were so many small child type Santas out there. In the end they all arrived back safely though and great fun was had by all.

Here the leaders are accompanied by one of our town councillors in his horse and trap, or cart, or whatever you call these wheeled thingies.

Off to a birthday party in 10 minutes. It's a surprise party inasmuch as I don't know the person concerned and didn't know anything about the invitation until last night. Will try to do some commenting later.
