concentrating...
...on the task at hand
which was landing - in the grassy area of the park... on a very cold - very windy day... don't ask me why i ventured out in it... still not feeling well - i guess i thought some fresh air might do me good but i wasn't anticipating the utter cold and blistering wind that greeted me... my fingertips were absolutely numb but the geese were swooping overhead - honking their arrival every few minutes.
they approached in straight lines... in curving formations... in great numbers and by handfuls... the sky was full and many, like these were coming in directly over me - so close i could easily see the wonderful outline of bodies, wings and legs... that beautiful little ruffle under their wings - the graceful speed as they saw an unseen tarmac and landing strip that i could not... i was in awe standing on the ground - nose running - wind whipping my hair about... suddenly it didn't matter because i was in the midst of such a sight. how many people get to witness geese landing or flying - to be so close to almost touch them... to glory in it? what a wonder... truly a blessing they allow me to partake of... making for...
a
happy day.....
