Let It Snow???
The weather up here has been fantastic!!!!
Sorry guys, the tree isn't finished yet (See yesterday's blip)
To bide you over and keep you in suspenders, here is a story about death.
The Dying Man.
An elderly man lies dying in his bed.
While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smells the aroma of his favourite scones, wafting up the stairs.
Gathering his remaining strength, he lifts himself from the bed.
Leaning on the wall, he slowly makes his way from the bedroom, and, with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawls downstairs.
With laboured breath, he leans against the door-frame, gazing into the kitchen.
Were it not for death's agony, he would think himself already in heaven.
For there, spread out upon the kitchen table are literally hundreds of his favourite scones.
Is this heaven?
Or one final act of love from his devoted Yorkshire wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he leaves this world a happy man?
Mustering one great, final effort, he throws himself towards the table, landing on his knees in rumpled posture.
His aged and withered hand trembles towards a scone at the edge of the table.
When suddenly it is whacked by his wife with a great wooden spoon...
"Bugger off," she says.
"They're for the funeral...".
