The One That Got Away

I am so not a shopping person

When it comes to clothes I am usually in running gear, my nurse's uniform or in an undiginfied towelling dressing gown ( simmer down boys in the back row there ) and shopping for anything nice rarely happens. Don't get me wrong, I adore getting dressed up for a big occasion I just hate the shopping element. Me and shops, this is how it is. I enter the automatic doors ( that usually aren't working so I bang into them or if they are working then I have to play some Laurel and Hardy game trying to step back and forward intermittently, to try and get the timing right for them opening), I see the bling, the androgyous plastic mannequins, the perfect shop assistants and I want to leave; the palpitations and the hyperventilating do nothing to help. I am much more comfortable at the start of a race, wearing dodgy gear, surrounded by mud and men in lycra.

This was me in Next today . I had tried on no less than 9 dresses and decided that every size 12 was lying, much easier to believe than the possible truth that I may have developed a wine belly or wine boobs. I gave up and went for accessories. I love love love these shoes but they were a tad tricky to walk in so I bought some gold strappy sandals instead. I may actually take them out of the box and model them later but I am feeling lazy and haven't shaved my legs so this may not happen so you have this blip for now. These glittery black ones are particularly nice aswell though.. I am keeping the photo to remind me as I may just go back tommorow and get them anyway- who cares about being able to walk! I will have the paramedics on stand by for my second shopping trip of the week....

Have counteracted all this girliness by a good run in the rain/sleet/hail and wind. I have bright red legs from exposure and I feel good !

That's all for now
xx

More Manics. This song has many memories. I remember being on the 1st leg of the 24 hr race and reaching the top of a summit and being exhausted and this came on. The timing made me laugh.
Have I mentioned I am going to see the Manics this weekend in London xx
