Red-Shafted Flicker (female)
Oddly, my bird book says that flickers seldom come to bird or suet feeders. We always have a flicker hanging from our suet feeder. There is one out there right now, as I type this. They are quite shy and it's hard to get anywhere near them with or without a camera. So, imagine my surprise when I saw one on our fence, right outside my window. As I suppose this might be the best flicker image I will get, this is today's blip.
Flickers are in the woodpecker family.
Another brilliant blue sky day, but very cold. Rain is in the forecast, so I think it will warm up some.
So, off to scour the kitchen. (would rather take photos)
