Marching on
On the way to see the ducks at the canal. Purposefully striding .... in the wrong direction ;-)
Oh well, we found them in the end and they were allowed to eat some of the bread, the remainder no.2 son found harder to relinquish!
We beat a hasty retreat when I saw the geese approaching, I wasn't sure they'd see the funny side of a child coming to edge of the water to eat toast so blatently :-/
We survived. And of course the funny side of it is that he had doggedly refused to eat the toast in the house! So now I know how to get him to eat his meals, pack it up for the ducks, walk to the edge of the water and 'boom', it will appear to be the most appealing meal in history! Fortunately he's usually a good eater, so I hope not to need to resort to such lengths often.
No.1 son had Christmas party at school, to his great excitement, and I found out I won a Christmas cake in last Friday's school fair raffle. Happy days.
Progressing from his earlier cuteness and clamouring for me to stay a few more minutes tucking him in at bedtime, no.1 son declared that he loved me more than sweets, but what do I hear as I'm walking back down the stairs, 'Only joking Mummy!' Charming :-)
Also both children slept through, in their own beds, until 6.25 this morning, for the first time in 9 nights. Hurrah, their cold may finally be passing*
And we made oaty biscuits. Yum. Now the challenge is just not to eat them all before the kids get up tomorrow <whoops>
*apologies go to Mr CleanSlate, whose cold will hopefully pass soon too :-)
