Scotland The World Over....Down Under

Fremantle, Western Australia is hosting the world sailing championships, which are also forming part of the qualifying events for the 2012 London Olympics. As part of this a few of the older buildings in the port city have been adorned with images of flags of competing nations.

The Scottish flag figures prominently on the side of one of the old Wool Stores which was used in the good old days to store wool bales before being shipped around the world. This was at a time before mining took over as our biggest export and when Australia "survived off the Sheep's back"

Whilst the Scottish flag abounds I am not so sure that the Scots have been the biggest winners when it comes to gold medal celebrations.

My Saltire had already been produced on the wall in a rather grand form.
