BLACKHEADED

Dull day today and it was already late before I managed to get out, so it seemed best to head for the loch to get the extra light from the water. I realised for the first time that these wee guys are often simply standing in shallow water, not swimming as it first appears,. There is so much to learn when I start looking properly.

This one was swimming, creating its own little whirpool. A small ray watery lemon sun came out for a moment to light the ripples.
