Sadness
I visited the cemetery today and saw this grave.
I often visit this part of town as I have family here.
This grave brings back many sad memories.
When our children were at pre-school I developed a friendship with a lovely young mother. My daughter and her son loved to play together.
Tragically she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was scared and didn't want to be disfigured. There were other reasons too but unfortunately she didn't accept radical treatment.
She stopped talking to me about her illness and our friendship dwindled as she fought her illness in her own way.
Sadly she died at 29 years old leaving behind her husband and young 4 year old son. Her husband remarried and the family moved away.
This is her grave. Someone has left fabric flowers. Her mother is mentioned on the headstone so she may still be alive. Maybe her son has been to visit.
I often wonder where her son is now as he'd be a young man in his 30s.
