Sandwich generation

I've always liked that expression to depict my generation: looking after both our kids and our parents at the same time, somehow sandwiched in between.

I guess we are among the first generation where this has become the norm, with having had children a bit later in life (to satisfy that career 'thing') and with our own parents healthy enough to live longer, happy lives too.

So here are the two sides of my sandwich: my youngest daughter and my mom (both of which just arrived at our house for the holidays -- the former from Miami enjoying a break from university and the latter from France) :)
