Not so green fingers

I am not a plant or garden lover and definitely don't have green fingeres. I kill everything, or get bored of waiting for things to grow. However I do have 2 orchid plants on my kitchen windowsill that have some how managed to have not only survived my care and attention but are positively blooming. I was always lead to believe that orchids were notoriously difficult to grow.

I took ages tonight tryin to take some arty interesting shot. I had step ladders, torches, tripods and remote controls. But inevitably it was the first photo I took before I got any of that stuff out, on macro setting with the flash on - just point and click - clearly I've still much to learn..plus maybe it's just my tired old brain playing tricks on me but I swear there's some sort of alien being just poking out of the middle of the flower watching what I'm doing
