It's a bit windy!

I think the whole of Scotland was on red alert today. 'Hurricane Bawbag', as it's commonly referred to, caused a lot of uncertainty and disruption all day. Colleagues weren't sure if they'd make it home, as some train services had been cancelled; bus routes were altered; trucks (or lorries, if you prefer) overturned; bridges and roads closed. Crazy! It's not as bad here as some places - I actually expected it to be worse. I did struggle walking from the bus stop home though, the wind was pushing against me. On the plus side, when I changed direction, the wind was pushing me along, up a flight of stairs, as it were. The less effort, the better, right?

I ventured outside at lunch time (of all the days to not bring lunch with me!) and took this picture of a woman struggling with an umbrella. I was surprised at how many umbrellas I saw today, as they are just useless and a hindrance in this wind. Shortly before this was taken, the umbrella was intact, but just as she walked into frame, the umbrella gave in to the wind and came apart, hence the wire.

Of all the days to make plans, my boyfriend and I were going to go on a little date to the Christmas markets to drink some glühwein and go ice skating tonight. Clearly, that's called off! Shall be at home relaxing instead!
