Through Jo's Lens

Lewis's Hat

Well I had to make it a trilogy, didn't I?

So, what has today been? I've been working at two GP surgeries which is always a nice change from the hospital. One lady was telling me an awful story about how her dog had been chained outside in the garden the night after bonfire night. The dog was a guard dog and she kept it outside. I asked why she kept in chained up and she told me that it would jump over the fence and escape if she didn't. The dog had probably been upset with the fireworks and had jumped over the fence, still attached to the chain, and had throttled itself to death. She hadn't heard anything and didn't know that anything had happened until she got up the following morning. She then went into detail of how the dog was and how she'd taken it down from the fence and buried it. It was really sad and really too much information for me. Some of you might judge the woman but I know the family and I know that they have kept dogs for years. There was no cruelty involved at all, she loved the dog and it was just a tragic accident.
