Goats and Roosters. Oh, My.
Nmbr1 and I will say a final good-bye to my father-in-law, during a ceremony next week in Michigan. Tabasco always enjoyed his company and has fun memories of country walks and ball tossing with him. She'd love an opportunity to give his hand one more nudge, and his face a big lick. We all would, and it helps that he was 90 and lived on his own up until the last three months.
Our little family always travels together, but not very practical this time. Sheltie-dog, Tabasco, isn't too keen on being left behind under any circumstances. A stay at a kennel? Fugetaboutit.
Enter Ridgeback Ranch. Located on 2 1/2 acres of desert, run by an animal loving couple who raise a variety of animals along with Ridgebacks.
This afternoon we went for a ride to check it out. Right off, Tabasco found the odors heavenly, and the silly goats worth a second look. Here she is nose to nose with an overnight visitor. I could breath a sigh of relief knowing the place had passed inspection and she could happily survive a short stay.
