Baking Day

Had a baking frenzy today! Walled up in the kitchen from dawn til dusk producing home made lemon curd, mince pies, tarts and sausage rolls. It's a bit of a tradition to make mince pies for old ladies but sadly the number of recipients is dwindling. :-(. We used to make them for a neighbour of Steve's - Mabel. She was 99 when we last took her some which was some years ago now. We always wonder what age she lived to. She still had her own home and all her faculties. Amazing lady. Also Aunty Olga who loved a mince pie but sadly this is the first Christmas she isn't with us. So just left baking for my mum and Aunty Amy. Also made lemon curd for the first time and fortunately it tastes yummy. So will be giving out a few jars as well :-).

Not often I get in a baking mood but there was no stopping me! So all stocked up now for Christmas and there'll be a fair few calories going on in the next few weeks! What the heck.

Miserable day today and we'd planned a walk so gonna have a mooch round Leeds instead and check out the German market - then visit to daughters then home for Sunday roast. So it's all good!
