....life at 1/100th of a second
And in order to prevent stranding the anchor was let go,
And with the cold the hearts of the crew were full of woe,
While the merciless Storm Fiend loudly did roar,
As the vessel was driven towards the Fife shore.
- from the poem "The Terrific Cyclone of 1893
Dreamworld's The Cyclone, is one of the tallest, high-speed gravity rollercoaster's in the Southern Hemisphere. It travels 13 storeys with 1000 tonnes of high-speed, heart thumping, hair raising twists, and somersaults into a 360-degree loop and screaming sidewinder.
It was a very exhausting day walking around the park under the muggy heat lugging a heavy camera and taking photo after photo of strangers who were quite enjoying the different pool activities around the park. My plan to get into the park free so I could enjoy the rides backfired. For one, there was nowhere to leave my precious camera and another, all the activities were water based!!!! Camera + Water = No ride for me! ;(((
Oh well..... one thing I learned today, I will never ever get into event photography. It's hard work and my back and legs have not stopped aching since getting home. To think I only did the stint for an hour and half! I definitely am not quitting my day job for that kinda gig. Hehehe.
Unfortunately, no portraits of kids or parents. I'm not allowed to use them for my own purpose. This photo was from the other park that has all the cool non-water based rides. Oh well..... moving on. Event photography ticked off my list.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday!
