Jetfire

Jetfire slept for decades at the National Air and Space Museum disguised as an SR-71 Blackbird, an advanced long-range reconnaissance aircraft. Upon awakening to the destruction wrought by fellow Decepticons, he switched allegiances to fight alongside the Autobots.

The SR-71 was powered by J58-P4 engines and could reach speeds of Mach 3+. Thermal expansion from high speed air resistance necessitated fuselage panels that fit loosely before take off and the aircraft leaked JP-7 jet fuel until the airframe expanded sufficiently in flight to create seals. While the original SR-71s were not armed, Jetfire uses a particle beam cannon and is also highly capable in melee combat.
