In memory

A back blip as yesterday ran away with me and I just did not have time to edit and upload the picture.

We went and planted trees at the school yesterday. They have been given some trees for the queens jubilee.

Me and my friend arrived with our spades and with about twenty other families planted a tree each.

By sheer chance and luck we got a Rowan tree :) which is the name of my son so that was nice. My daugher and I bickered as we do best about the hole, amount of soil where to put the protective pipe etc etc but in the end we managed to get the tiny scrap of a tiny tree into the ground.

We were then allowed to dedicate it so I called it after my Nan. She was about 4ft 10in and when one of her great grandchildren called Great Big Nanny it stuck. Rowan was born just before she went into a home and when I told her he was called Rowan she said " like a tree, he will keep growing and growing". Considering that she was already in the ravages of dementia by this point I can remember being impressed at that line.

Anyway it was cold, bracing and mercifully a quick affair and I hope they do grow and grow.
