Big Daddy
I met up with a friend for lunch today. We went to a local farm which has set up a very successful cafe and shop selling local produce. The best thing is, it is still a working farm. We took our cameras and as a result had about 50 pictures of cows! The farmer came to talk to us and took us in the byre and was happy for us to wander about taking our pictures. I was tempted by a line of cows feeding together, ah, 'Ladies Who Lunch' I thought! Then I spotted this chap in a byre with several cows and about 4 or 5 calves. What a handsome specimen. He looked so docile just standing there with his progeny around him. I declined my friend's suggestion of climbing in with him to create a more interesting angle!
The farm shots meant all my early morning efforts of wandering round the garden to take the first of the heavy frosts, went to pot. The garden was white, it really was lovely and the cabbages particularly looked spectacular with frost riming every leaf edge - but you'll have to take my word for it. Perhaps tomorrow another opportunity, apparently there's more to come.
