Venturing forth
I did not do much venturing today. I slept badly (for the second night in a row). A combination of late night pasta, open windows and gale force winds - and lying worrying and thinking about what should/could have been.
I didn't venture forth much today. Tired (see above) and waiting for the vinyl fitters and the insulation surveyor. Ian, painter, comme d'habitude, at 7.50. Pavel and Konrad arrived at midday, Mark at 2 (his office have no idea of Scottish geography). So I didn't swim, didn't get to yoga and got as far as Margiotta for a gold pen because I was 'waiting in'.
But I did get the French and overseas cards written, sort out the refurb costs (not budget, you note) and sorted out arrangements for Day 1 on Monday - oh and ever, I ignored M's email. What's wrong with phones I say. L did phone, to say her mother had died suddenly, in hospital, not of the major op but if pneumonia. So sad.
Back to 'venturing'. I 'ventured' to the Venture Scotland prrsentation evening in the City Chambers. I'm a volunteer and a Trustee, and tonight I Got The T-shirt! An inspirational evening about young people rebuilding their lives through challenge, outdoor ed and community involvement. I missed the buffet though, unfortunate, given how little I've eaten this week. I missed it because if Molly who did her own venturing - under the kitchen units and behind the dishwasher while the vinyl was, being laid. Then, she got siliconed in when the kickboards were replaced and she's too fat to squeeze through the gap. Poor Pavel had to return to free her and of course she wouldn't come out till he'd gone. Cats!
Meanwhile I'm having my own little venture in Pizza Express. Thank goodness for FOOD (oh, and a lovely half moon has ventured out too.)
Here's to Friday - and windows I can close.
