2nd Street Optical

According to the Grunion Gazette (our local weekly), "The windows at 2nd Street Optical have been raising eyebrows for nearly two decades, and the man behind the glass is inviting the public this holiday season to contribute to the display.
Olivier Chupeau has been the man creating the unusual and artistic window displays at 2nd Street Optical, once using cheese graters to form a set of jazz players wearing glasses - other times he has used huge balls of string, bleach bottles (some of which he dug out of recycle bins in Belmont Shore) or water-filled Ziploc bags.
This year, Chupeau said he is seeking donations from the public of old Christmas lights and ornaments that would be used to make a holiday display. It's a chance for the community to recycle unwanted holiday decorations and participate in a Belmont Shore artistic tradition".

We found ourselves in Belmont Shore once again for another last (we leave for Mexico on Thursday and have been experiencing a series of lasts) - today it was the last chance to drink half-priced wine at one of our favorite restaurants. We stumbled by 2nd Street Optical after finishing a bottle of Ted the Mule Red and saw the final result of the article in the previous week's newspaper.
