Night Scenes

Another bonding activity with my daughter thanks to her photography class: moving light photos. She had the idea of shooting a plane landing at the Long Beach Airport, so we found a vantage point with a view of the runway and set up. This is one of the test exposures to make sure we were ready as we had intelligently checked the flight arrival times, but had no way to see the planes as they approached. All the preparation was for naught because during the first landing the plane came in higher than we expected and was out of the frame. We were forced to wait for the next "surprise" landing when she got what she originally envisioned. I, however, much preferred the patterns of car lights in the earlier test exposure (though it would have been awesome with a plane filling the big black expanse in the middle).
