'Laps'

Sounds rude doesn't it?

As I am barred from running, today I went swimming.

When I usually talk about swimming, I'm talking about floating around in a warm pool; occasionally playing with the kids, having a drink pretending I like being a water baby.

Today I swam laps for the second time in my life. Twenty of them in 22 minutes and I can safely say it was THE most boring 22 minutes of my entire life. Barr nothing. Truly monotonous with only the clock on the wall and the bobbing swimming-capped head of a dour faced woman to look at.

Tomorrow I'm going running and sod the dodgy hip!
