khamis mosque

Khamis Mosque is the oldest mosque in Bahrain. It dates back to the year 720, the bits that are now standing date from a later time, one of the minarets was built around 1058 the other one around 1400. It has been partially restored. Unfortunately today was very overcast and rainy, not the best day to go out taking pictures, so we called it quits early and went for a coffee instead.
