Inner City

This afternoon I went on another bus ride with a friend into the inner city of Christchurch - into the red zone which was bad,y damaged in the February earthquake.
I was there about 10 days ago, and once more I found a lot more buildings have been demolished. There is machinery everywhere, rubble and dust.
This I think is looking east along Gloucester Street, we are traveling down Manchester Street. There would have been a lot of buildings all through this empty land. I cannot recall which buildings were here. Now there is just this one tall building which has survived. Quite sobering.
