OK OK, I know I promised also not to mention birthdays too much unless I have to...
but today it is Emma's sixth birthday.
I think she was up earlier than she is even on Christmas Days. (Oops sorry, promised not to mention the C-word too.) Before breakfast she had opened presents from everyone in the household, by 11, she had spoken to her big brother in Birmingham, played with several new toys, played with moon sand and washed her own hair, as well as tinting Barbie's hair too.
By 1.30 we had picked up several of her friends and met many more at the Go Bananas adventure centre and they were soon three floors up, swinging from ropes and sliding down slides probably 3 or 4 times the size of the biggest slide I ever saw when I was young!
After their party meal, cake candle-blowing and happy birthday singing, it was more ball-pool, bouncy, slidey type things before we had to go. After having three little girls sitting behind me singing Queen songs at the tops of their voices for the 25 miles home, I think I may now need a double cochlea implant!
When we finally arrived home, she then had another dozen or so presents from her friends to open !#@!! People are very generous.
Anyway, I'm glad to report that the day went without any tears, arguments, jealousies or argy bargy of any kind, so can't be bad. I think she may sleep well tonight.
