All I Want for Christmas

I know that many of you have been waiting for news of last night's result. I am delighted to tell you that we have gone top of the league. But no celebrations yet, you win nothing in November.

First half it was just like watching Brazil. We played lovely flowing football but couldn't convert any of the chances into goals. Then as half time approached our right back hit a low thunderbolt from 30 yards out into the bottom corner. One, nil.

But it was a game of two halves and although we started the second in the same vein as we had finished the first mistakes began to creep in. The opposition, who up until then had offered nothing, grew in confidence while our players grew nervy. They had a couple of chances one of which called for a great save from our custodian. All ended well and we ran out winners. As the manager said, "The boys done good."
