Why did I come in here?

A VAST behind - Left hand down a bit.

I could have Blipped away quite happily at various things this morning but decided to concentrate on the good ship Agnes Rose. As with most things in life it was not straight forward, or perhaps that's just the way things happen to me.

Agnes Rose was originally a wreck of a fibreglass dinghy, left to rot, unloved, down by Chapel Porth. The Tree Surgeon, Dave, one of the rubber ducky inshore lifeboat crew, took it upon himself to paint her up, give her woodwork a rub down and fit a mast. The cleverest bits are hidden. The transom, that's the back end bit for you townies, has been cut away and a step built so that young seafarers can board and get into the boat. The second hidden bit is the two metres of the steel mast which has been hammered into the ground, thus preventing some of the more irascible yoofs or yoblets from wrecking the Agnes Rose.

So it's three cheers for Dave, and bring your own sick bag for the kiddies.

Just above the Jolly Roger is a grey line in the cloud. That's a shadow cast by a high level contrail down onto a layer of Cirrostratus cloud. Using a clever little App on my phone called, oddly enough, Planefinder. It shows you which airline, aircraft, heading, route and altitude all for free. My grandson loves it. As soon as he spots a jet he is straight onto Grandpa's case to find out what it is and where it's going. Planefinder app.

The other playground kit was being used by a lady and her young son. I approached her and asked if she minded me photographing the boat while she was there. Not a problem, she was happy and interested as she has an SLR and was interested in DSLR and what it can do; I gave her my camera, described what it can do and let her use it. However it is such a shame that those of us without any evil intent should feel awkward in a public situation. I can fully understand the fears of a parent, two years ago a known paedophile was spotted taking long lens images of children at a local beach. He was chased by a few men up a cliff path, removed the memory card from his camera and threw it away. By the time the Police arrived he felt very happy with himself. His attitude and future plummeted when the Coasties turned up, dropped a rope and one of them scrambled down about 20 metres and recovered the card to be used as evidence, much to the horror of the photographer.

Yes I know, hanging is too quick, but by then somebody had called the powers that be. Please have a look in the chat forums, I will put my thoughts together and ask a question.
