Preparing to give thanks

The cranberry sauce is made and in the fridge. I love fresh cranberry sauce. Can't stand the canned stuff, as it tastes like the can. And, besides, making it from scratch is about as easy as opening the can, and tastes sooooo much better. This year I took a tip from my local grocery store and marinated the cranberries in a bit of orange juice for a few hours, then made it the regular way, reducing the water by the amount of orange juice I used. It's the easiest recipe--1 Cup water, 1 Cup sugar and a package of cranberries. Bring the water and sugar to a boil, add the cranberries, return to a boil and boil for 10 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. Doesn't get easier than that!

This year, I farmed out most of the time consuming things, like pies and rolls, so that will make it much easier. We're expecting about 22 for dinner, and that's just our kids and grandkids! Bound to be a bit of a hullabaloo and chaos, but it's always very enjoyable.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
