Queen Anne's Alcove.
Another long, busy day today. Work took me to Lancaster Gate, off the Bayswater Road. I took the opportunity to have a short stroll in Hyde Park. It was a nice crisp, sunny Autumn day. I came across this structure called Queen Anne's Alcove.
It's a rather splendid garden arbour designed by Wren and erected circa 1703-1705 in the garden perimeter wall at the south end of the Dial Walk, but moved to its present position near the Italian Fountains in 1867.
The evening was spent with the old gang from Ealing having a pre Christmas dinner in Hammersmith. Great food and great company, a fun evening out. All our kids are growing up now so we can do this sort of thing more easily now.
It's amusing as we all terrify each other with stories of driving and the antics of boys. All good fun.
