Creag an Duine
The rain stopped during the night, and I awoke to cloudless sky. It was cold though, and the surrounding mountains shadowed the bothy all day.
I set off walking back along the track I'd cycled up the previous day, and then had to take my boots off to cross the Allt a Choire Mhor river. Then clambered up the magnificent ridge to the summit in the picture. The views to the North and West were stunning, with the unmistkable peaks of Assynt dominating the horizon. There was some snow on Ben More Assynt and Klibreck.
The ridge remained interesting to the summit, and I paused for a few pics. I then plodded east across endless bog and peat hags studded with unmapped lochans before finding drier ground on the summit of Carn Ban. The sun was on my back, but the wind gusted from the side and increased in strength as the day went on.
On the the descent back to the bothy I collected some stumps and roots of ancient bogwood which made for a decent fire. For an hour or two.
