Shaggiest Ink Cap
Today's blip was going to be some Slippery Jack fungi I saw on the common yesterday but on the way I came across this giant Shaggy Ink Cap. According to the reference books the Shaggy Ink Cap can grow to 15cm, this one is a wopping 28cm and is one of a pair, the other has already started to collapse. Its easy to see how it acquired its alternative name of the Lawyer's Wig. For a more regular sized Shaggy Ink Cap see my blip on 6th October.
