Bristolwood and Beyond

Christmas in the air!

There was an urgency for me to get out today to shop a bit. After all, Poinsettias selling for $3.99 for a six inch pot is a great value, no?

I left late this morning and I had a few errands to run besides buying those Poinsettias! First on the agenda was returning bottles and cans at Wegman's. As I was going into the store, I spotted a pretty wreath to decorate to place on my father-in-law's grave. Aha! one less thing to have to think about later!

Off I went to Aldi to pick up the flowers. Wow! They were even prettier than I had imagined they might be! What a terrific value. In my mind, just having those plants and lots of candles would be enough decorating!

I stopped at Volunteers of America and Salvation Army to look for a filing cabinet for Daughter. Hard to believe that at such a young age, she has records and files that need to be kept! She is so organized!! I remember my father-in-law's system....pay the bill, then toss the paperwork! I think that is more my approach to life in general....

No filing cabinets found today. I did find one huge one that looked like an oak piece of furniture, but upon inspection, it was particle board covered in fake "wood". Too expensive and too big!

On to Tractor Supply. I needed to pick up lag bolts and washers for Husband and Son's project. I also picked up a pair of wellies. Well, they aren't technically "wellies" as they are an imitation. Nevertheless, they will serve me well in the spring when I get into maple syrup production! Mud season, indeed!

I stopped downtown to see if I could find a Blipworthy photo. I took a few and was disappointed at this one at first....but in looking further, I thought it was pretty neat! I had originally wanted to capture the beautiful florist's window, but also captured a reflection of buildings across the street! You can also see the gorgeous but chilly day!

Canandaigua is a unique town. For one thing, it is located in the Finger Lakes. Canandaigua Lake is situated at the south end of Main Street. The town is the county seat and is so beautiful. It is one of the only places I can think of where parking is entirely free! The downtown is brim-full of businesses....it is rare to see vacant buildings in Canandaigua!
