Vive la Vie

Bebe Maestro

Today was a good day.

Runs for both myself and hubby.

Swimming lessons and play at the pool. For the first time in ages we noticed a real improvement in O's swimming. She never took to the water like we hoped and she doesn't particularly look forward to it but today she was great. When D was having his swimming lesson (he screamed for the first 5 minutes and then when he realised it was pointless he started waving to everyone and clearly charmed his swimming teacher) O and hubby started having a relay race back and forth across the pool. I was amazed and it wasn't until I overheard O calling herself Dr. Eggman that I realised they were having a race like they do on the Wii game 'Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games'. Thank goodness all this Wii playing is having a positive effect!

Then it was onto the gorgeous Juliette and Mia's 3rd Birthday party at Bebe Maestro. The music and activities were fantastic and both kids had an absolute blast. I was particularly proud of my two as I'm afraid to say there were some real rot-bag children there. D was cuddling a teddy when a 4 year old boy came over and pulled it out of D's hand (the teddy actually belonged to the Bebe Maestro organisation and there were enough for everyone) with such force that D fell over. As I was comforting D, O marched straight over to the boy and tried to take the teddy back off him to give it to D and the horrible rot-bag boy quite literally roared in her face. O's little face crumpled and my heart swelled with love as she was just looking out for her little brother. Said boys' parents were nowhere to be seen. My kids may not be perfect but they are kind and they do share...well most of the time ;)

The above photo was taken by the birthday girl's Dad and I asked him to email it to me as it's a rare thing these days to see a photo of me with the kids, as like most blippers I'd rather be behind the camera! It's of me and O having a dance together while the pianist played some tchaikovsky.
